Living on Cape Cape Cod

"The Cape" is a major tourist destination. It's known for its beautiful beaches and quaint villages. It's also famous for Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard - two islands off of its coast.

Cape cod living is wonderful. Especially in the off-season, when all of the tourists have left town. If you are thinking about moving to Cape Cod, take some time off to come visit. The area has strong historical roots dating back to the earliest Settlements.

Though it is known as a vacation destination, many people live on Cape Cod all year. It's is a great place to buy a home. 

Finding Cape Cod Homes For Sale

You will find many homes for sale on Cape Cod at any given time. It's has a fantastic real estate market. From waterfront homes to foreclosures and rentals, of course.

Prices range widely. Some homes can be well into the Millions of Dollars. But, you can find find a cheap getaway house or condo under $200,000. You might even find a fixer-upper home under $100,000 if you look hard enough.

Finding your way around

Many people are confused by the idea of "upper" and "lower" cape. You would think "upper" refers to North. You would be wrong. Upper is actually the point closest to the mainland of Massachusetts. Conversely, lower is the furthest point from the mainland.

Geographically, it's a peninsula south of Boston. The eastern-most point in Massachusetts. Encompassing Barnstable County.

The Upper Cape

Upper Cape Cod is made up of the towns of Bourne, Sandwich, Falmouth, and Mashpee.

The Mid Cape

The town of Barnstable, Yarmouth and Dennis make up the Mid Cape region. Barnstable is the largest town on the Cape.

The Lower Cape

The Lower Cape refers to the towns of Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown. The later five towns are commonly referred to as the Outer Cape.
