Locals commute to the city by car or commuter rail.
Drivers have two main options. Take Route 128 to Interstate 95. Then onto Route 1 or Interstate 93. Commute time this way can be 40 to 50 minutes. Or you can take Route 1A into the city in about an hour.
Rail commuters can hop on the Newburyport/Rockport Line at MBTA's Beverly Depot Station. The trip to North Station takes about 36 minutes.
